Trump Says the DOJ Has Indicted Him in ‘DARK DAY’ for the Country

by Ben Whedon

Former President Donald Trump on Thursday announced that the Department of Justice has indicted him and that he must appear at a Miami courthouse on Tuesday.

“The corrupt Biden Administration has informed my attorneys that I have been Indicted, seemingly over the Boxes Hoax, even though Joe Biden has 1850 Boxes at the University of Delaware, additional Boxes in Chinatown, D.C., with even more Boxes at the University of Pennsylvania, and documents strewn all over his garage floor where he parks his Corvette, and which is ‘secured’ by only a garage door that is paper thin, and open much of the time,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

CNN has reported that Trump faces seven counts, citing anonymous sources. The DOJ has not made any official announcement as of press time.

Trump’s reference to the “boxes hoax” appears to refer the FBI’s seizure of materials from his Mar-a-Lago estate in August of last year. Attorney General Merrick Garland in November appointed special counsel Jack Smith to handle its investigation into the matter. Prior to the August raid, Trump voluntarily cooperated with a grand jury subpoena and surrendered materials to the bureau. He has called the case a political witch hunt.

“I have been summoned to appear at the Federal Courthouse in Miami on Tuesday, at 3 PM,” he continued. “I never thought it possible that such a thing could happen to a former President of the United States, who received far more votes than any sitting President in the History of our Country, and is currently leading, by far, all Candidates, both Democrat and Republican, in Polls of the 2024 Presidential Election. I AM AN INNOCENT MAN!”

Trump has further attempted to highlight the perceived disparate treatment between his case and that of President Joe Biden, who also also faced scrutiny for his alleged mishandling of classified materials after reports emerged that a lawyer clearing out his former office in the Penn Biden Center in Washington had discovered classified materials in November. Subsequent searches turned up classified documents at Biden’s private residence, including a batch stored in his garage.

Those materials reportedly containing sensitive intelligence materials related to Iran, the UK, and Ukraine. Trump has repeatedly seized on the revelations, noting that Biden, having only previously served as vice president, never possessed the authority to declassify and retain materials. Trump has maintained that the president enjoys broad authority to declassify materials and that he was legally entitled to possess the documents in his possession.

“This is indeed a DARK DAY for the United States of America. We are a Country in serious and rapid Decline, but together we will Make America Great Again!” he vowed.

This is why people need to elect tough-as-nail governors and not jelly-spined cowards like Lee. Things are dark and serious in the United States now and governors will have tools at their disposal to answer in kind.
